Stauch Vorster were the architects contracted to design

the new clubhouse after being left in ruins from the fire in 1988. The concept of the new building requested by Kevin Wentzel, The Club Manager at the time, was "a much more workable and practical clubhouse layout offering far better facilities for functions, catering and storage".
In September of 1988 a Rebuilding Committee was appointed;

Mr. A Karlson - Tongaat Hulett Sugar Mt Edgecombe
Mr. G. de Jongh - Tongaat Hulett Sugar Mt Edgecombe (Chairman Huletts Country Club)
Mr. H Krull - Tongaat Hulett Property Division
Co-opting Mr. K. Wentzel and Mr. D. Bell as necessary.
The Clubhouse as completed in October of 1989, with one or two minor extensions, today stands proud boasting the same colonial verandah style as adapted by the residential component of the two Estates. Like the rest of the facilities the clubhouse reflects an ambiance of style, tranquility and enchantment. With its world class function and conference rooms, wonderful restaurants and bars, Mount Edgecombe Country Club's Clubhouse ranks with the best in the country.
