THE MOUNT EDGECOMBE APP
The app was launched in February earlier this year and has proved highly successful, with over 1,000 people downloading it. We thank you for supporting this innovative initiative. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, let us tell you a little about why you should.
The app is tailored to meet our needs on the Estate and is centered around the very latest chat technology. At the moment, Estate 1 is unable to receive visitor access codes through the App, but they are in the process of upgrading their systems and should be able to receive visitor access codes through the App shortly. We urge all Estate Two Residents to please download the app and familiarise yourselves with all it offers.
Today, apps have revolutionized how businesses communicate with customers – in our case, how we directly communicate with Residents and Members. Among the many advantages of the app are the following provisions:
- Information at your fingertips through the extensive FAQs
- Visitor access codes for Estate 2 – a great cost saving as the Estate no longer needs to SMS codes.
- Takeaways for both the Club and The Watershed Cafe
- Golf booking requests
- Mini Account Statements
- Emergency numbers
- Important push notification which takes communication with Residents to a new level
- A direct communication tool with Residents, Members, and Management during working hours.

You are free to paddle on Pani at any time of the day, 7 days a week. If however you are paddling during golfing hours, you should stick to the middle of the dam to avoid errant shots!

Congratulations to Thomas Rey (pictured above with coach Greg) who recently won the Boys Under 16 Mini Series in Durban. Tom and his partner also went on to win the doubles event, which is an amazing achievement.
The event is a series of ranking tournaments held throughout the year.
Tom is now ranked in the top 2 or 3 in the province and has his eyes set on the next event later in the year.
All his hard work is paying off. Keep it up Tom!

AMBASSADOR OF THE MONTH
Since the inception of the joint security initiative on the Estates, we have focused on training and discipline, both in line with hospitality and relating to operating procedures.
The morale of the staff has been fantastic and this assisted the smooth merge of Excellerate becoming the main service provider to both Estates. To ensure we are constantly improving and retain the levels of morale, we have launched an initiative called “Ambassador of the Month”. This is an award that will be presented on a monthly basis to the security guard/s who has gone above and beyond their “call of duty”.
Should you as a Resident, or one of your visitors feel that a security officer’s service has been exemplary, then we urge you to please draft a commendation email to your relevant Estate Manager – email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
A certificate of appreciation from MECCEMA and an AAA Certificate from Excellerate will be awarded and at an annual event, an Ambassador of the year will be chosen from your nominations.
HAPPY 99th BIRTHDAY, LINDA McARTHUR
One of our very proud Members of Estate Two submitted this which we wish to share with all of you:
“I’m not too sure who the oldest resident on the Estate is, but my husband’s gran turned 99 years old on the 20th July. We celebrated with a lovely lunch at the Watershed on Sunday. Her name is Linda McArthur and she lives in The Rushes on Estate 1.” Jani Johnson
A resounding happy birthday, Linda, from all of us! May your year ahead be filled with bottomless blessings.
