Dear Members and Residents,
I would like to thank all our Members for their support in 2017. It has been a tough year with the changing of 10 greens and rebuilding of Hole 5 in the first 4 months of the year. Thank you for your patience.
The way that the greens-keeping staff managed this process under the leadership of Gilbert, was amazing, and I would like to thank him and his team for their tireless efforts. Both courses are in great shape and we have a positive outlook for 2018.
The operations team, led by Blessing, is an asset to Mount Edgecombe, and I would like to thank them for all their hard work and commitment to making it the best experience in KZN.
In 2018, we plan to change the layout of Course 1, re-brand both Golf Courses and upgrade the Pro-Shop area, as well some exciting changes to the Nedbank Private Wealth Cup and other events.
Have a fantastic festive season and we look forward to a seeing you on the course in 2018.

Senior Men’s Golf ~ Noel Kent
Dear Members and Residents,
The Senior Golfers Annual General Meeting was held on 20 November. The incoming committee is Noel Kent, Harry Voorma, Keith Thompson and John Dickens.
During the 2017 financial year, the Senior Golfers group donated R10,495 to the Highway Hospice. This is funded by a percentage of the entry fee which we charge for our weekly competitions.
At the AGM, it was decided that if some of our Members wished to play only 9 holes, they would be welcome to join our group and play at the back of the field.
We will continue playing up to 15 December and will recommence after the holiday break on 3 January 2018.

Ladies Golf
The arrival of the Silly Season hopefully allows you more time for golf!
Although we’ve completed our official Ladies Competitions for 2017, there are still opportunities to play “holiday golf” on Wednesdays and Saturdays as well as the Friday Afternoon Meat Competition. Phone Winnie in the Pro-shop on 031 502 1010 to enter.
Our 1st official competition in the New Year is on Wednesday the 17th of January 2018. The Swallows Day – an Individual Stableford Competition played on Course 1.

Alterations at the Pro-Shop
The golf section is excited about the Board’s approval for the upgrade to the Pro-Shop area which we felt was vital to improving the experience at Mount Edgecombe Country Club. We would like to express a special thank you to Romano Valenti for all his hard work in bringing this project to life. We also thank him for overseeing the project to ensure we get a world-class facility which will hopefully improve the golfers experience, and have a positive knock-on effect to the value of your homes. The timeline is to start on the 15th January and completion within 3 months. Please bear with us during this time as things could get messy.
